Within the framework of the agreement between the School of Mechanical Engineering and Transportation (SMET) and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), a specialized training program titled "Automotive Electrical and Electronic Systems, Diagnostics, and Repair" was successfully conducted.
This training was attended by engineers and technical personnel responsible for fire trucks and other specialized rescue vehicles from both Ulaanbaatar and provincial emergency response units. Participants had the opportunity to enhance their professional skills and expertise in modern vehicle diagnostics and repair.
The training sessions were delivered by faculty members of the "Automotive Engineering" program and were conducted in state-of-the-art facilities, including the "Automobile Structure and Design Laboratory", "Automotive Electrical and Electronic Systems Laboratory", and laboratories sponsored by "Transwest" and "Cummins". Participants also received hands-on experience using modern training equipment installed in these laboratories.
The closing ceremony of the training was attended by:
✅ Dr. N. Purevdorj, Director of SMET
✅ Dr. M. Delgernasan, Head of the Training and Quality Department
✅ Colonel Ts. Uranchimeg, Deputy Director of NEMA
During the ceremony, certificates were awarded to the participants, and the officials emphasized the importance of applying the acquired knowledge and skills in daily operations and sharing expertise with colleagues to improve overall efficiency.
This training marked the first collaborative initiative between SMET and NEMA, setting the stage for further cooperation in research and training. The two institutions have agreed to formalize their partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate ongoing training programs and joint research initiatives.
